I agree with your comments.  I just had my hamstrings lengthened this
summer and there is a part of me that is mad at my parents for not
looking into surgical options for me sooner.  I am 26 and did my own
research and made my own decision, but I wonder now that if they had
done this when I was 8 or 10, if things would be different.  Ya know?
Now, I won't hold it against them, but it did make me think.  So, I
would research every angle, ask lots of questions, and then make an
informed decision.  In the end, I am sure your daughter will thank you
(and she might even do it during those awkward teen years!!)
