Bobby,
Get hold of a Congressional history, and I believe you will find that
our pols have always hurled epithets and profanities at each other.
Worse things hasve happened in our congressional history.  Duels and
such have taken place around congress.   You know what I say?  If "pro"
is the opposite of "con," is "Congress" the opposite of "progress?" :-D
