Yeah, and scoliosis, lordosis, kyphosis, or whatever other kind of back-bending "sis" CP seems to bring, it's eventually degenerative with or without bracing (seems to be the case, at any rate).

I just thought that holding it straight would be better than goimg the risk
of something going wrong during surgery.
