I wouldn't tinker with Case's desire to be in the NBA. In the process of
growing up, he'll learn what's realistic for him as everyone does for
themselves . In a year, he may not even want to do that. I wanted to be a surgeon
when I was twelve and my grandmother made an issue of it. I always resented
her for it and it turned out to be totally uneccessary because I soon realized
I hated math and was too squeamish to stand discecting a frog. Best to let
Case find his own way.

Also, just my opinion, I think Case's parents are right on for letting him
handle things. It will be all up to him one day. (great advice about just
pushing the kid back - that's what any other kid would do) Also, I know you
worry about his safety, but he's made it to 8 so he must have his witts about
him. If it were me, I wouldn't tell all the kids to be careful around him.
That just sends the message to his friends and to Case that he needs taking
care of just because he's got CP. Not cool.

Sorry to sound like a bitch Linda, but I think Case's parents have it going
on!!
