Hi Mag,

That's what I was trying to point out by having the pet jump on a low coffeetable type thing - just for the pet - one can feed and water them from a sitting position also negating the need for spending money. While I think its a great idea - I also think we can make do with what is on hand. With this fantastic non-slip plastic type mat - the pet bowls will stay put and not slide of the table. A good heavy cardboard box - like the kind air caonditioners come in would work also. As long as its stable - it doesn't acually matter what it is. I have seen people have a section of the kitchen counter just for feeding a cat. Not my idea but hey it worked for them. Pets are critical for many people - they supply companionship and love. We need to figure out ways to make it doable them. Amber is very attached to cat and dog. Goodness knows they put up with her handling since she was little - I remember one time she picked up my kitten and was going to fling it on her should and Cowlett sailed right over her should and fell to the floor - It took a little finese for her to get the cat and shoulder move right - but we got there - thankfully my Cowlett is a big wuss. Custard (the dog)has learned to sit and look really pathetic but stay put when Amber bathes her. And of course there was the time Amber tried to wash the new kittens in the toilet to help the mama cat. OUCH. All survived - I noticed it had gotten quiet and when to see what my angel was up to. Amber is very attached to her pets.

I was trying to point out that if people can't bend over, they can sit down, and pour the food out of pitcher. very simple. do not need a 70 pound device.

Well, if all that comes back are negative comments then it seems worthless - I was trying give ideas that would allow someone to have a small pet and not have to bend down for food water and other stuff. Amber's dog - Custard is trained to jump on 1 piece of furniture the love seat- and only on the corner with her blanket on it. She also has a crate she stays in when no one is home. I don't have to worry about her food yet - becasue the kids take care of that. The cats - OMG - they find their way to the top of the kitchen cabinets - and peer over the edges and watch you. Looks like a cat free zone - until you look up!
