Yeah Mag, this 'finding a new neurologist thing' has come up in mind more
than once. He has known me for 2 1/2 years now though, and I just have major
reservations about changing.

Actually, I discovered how to get him off his duff to do the paperwork when I
told his secretary that if he didn't finish my retirement paperwork by a
certain Friday, I was going to go in the office the following Monday at
morning with a lawn chair and knitting and stay all day and make myself at
home. I also told her that a friend had offered to loan me her cell phone so
I could set up a communications base. That was true, and she also offered to
come and visit me during my "vacation" in the doctor's waiting room. I said
that by the close of business day, they were going to have to call the police
to have me arrested to get me out of there. I was prepared to do all of
that, but prayed that I wouldn't have to put my money where my mouth was.

I didn't. The word got to Dr. Procrastinate, I'm sure. He had the paperwork
ready by the day before my date of intended protest. I guess I'm just going
to have to pull out the old "lawn chair" threat again.

Thanks for the hug too.

<< aww Betty, i think you need a hug, and also you need to let your dr. know
that you really needed that powerchair last year! if he doesn't take action
soon, you must find a new DR! it really isn't fair to you that he hasn't done
a half hour of paperwork. maybe you can find a rehab hospital where an OT
could prescribe a chair for you. she can take your measurements and let you
try out a few chairs. Be sure to get adequate arm supports!

 Love,
 mag
