Man o man. I really noticed the difference when I started using a
wheelchair. It wasn't a speech thing though, I was on a birdwalk with some
friends, and I was right in the middle of looking an immature red-headed
woodpecker through my binoculars. We hadn't seen him in a few birdwalks and
I was so happy to be seeing him again. His head color was changing to a
brighter red to reflect his maturity, and it was a great experience.
Suddenly, I felt this jerking motion. One of my friends had pulled my chair
back because HE was leaving and decided that I was ready to go too. He said,
AFTER he starting pushing me away, "Are WE ready to go now?" MAN! I wanted
to knock him in the middle of next week!!!
