Linda,

I've been reading this discussion and refraining from comment as I
think this going around in circles is getting us nowhere but pissed
off, but after this last note I have to respond.

You are making BROAD GENERALIZATIONS about large groups of people.
That is just not fair or appropriate. Think of it from a disability
perspective. Not every CPer is retarded or unable to walk or unable
to speak clearly. Yes, the media often portrays disability at its
extremes and plays the pity card, but the disability community as a
whole IS NOT THAT WAY. Same is true for the broad strokes you are
painting. Not every (or even majority) of LDS commit incest! Does
it happen, yes. Do Catholics or Protestants or Jews do it
too...yes. Religion isn't the cause or predisposition to these
behaviors.

And as others have said, you need to back up your statements with
research and facts, not just media reports or hunches. Maybe I am
just too knee deep in my own research coursework and preparing for my
dissertation, but I really have no patience for people stating
something as fact that is totally unsupported and unproven. If you
want me or others to consider what you are saying, back up your
thoughts with REAL evidence.
