Hey,

>I agree, Kyle. It has nothing to do with one's theology. If our >society
>ever goes into a hyper "survival of the fittest" mode, we could be in
>trouble.

So much for enlightenment. Are we all to be doomed by some outdated
Darwinian notion?

        Yep!

I sure as heck hope not! I have a documentary on tape
about a group of disabled folk gathering to go to an "Ability Expo" type
thing. It's probably about 12 years old now. However, I recall "Survival
Of The Fittest" interpreted to mean 'ability to adapt.' This I like, if
only to help us recognize one of our own values as a people.

Vince, Vince, Vince! Don't you get it? Western society does not
value people. It values tangibles such as youth, beauty, strength. Sure,
it (society) likes to think of itself as inclusive, ecumenical and
post-modern, but culture is driving society, not the other way. As long as
westerners (who comprise 5% of the globe) control the world's executive
ideologies, gimps like you and I will be persona non grata (a tacit
understanding, of course). :>O

Inclusion is BS when the rubber meets the road. As far as 'ability to
adapt', well, look at it this way: A chair-bound quad is dependent on that
able-bodied carpenter to build his ramp. Without that ramp, there is no
adaptation for our disabled friend.

Ah...post-modernism. Ain't it great? Wish our friend Logan (from Canada,
remember?) were still here. "PM"...now THAT'S the opiate of the masses!
