Well actually you trip over untied shoe laces because you didn't tie them.
That's not a product defect, it's yours, so no reason to sue.  Velcro does
come loose and that is a product limitation/defect that weakens the brace and
causes the wearer to fall and injure himself.  That is ligation-worthy, or
some lawyers might think so.
