The "&nbsp" is an element in HTML (the language used to write
most web pages). I believe it stands for Non Breakable SPace (I
haven' got my manuals with me).

Since all "white-space" (tabs and spaces) are ignored by a web
browser if it occurs at the beginning or end of a (physical)
line, a space at the end of a line is shown as "&nbsp".
