They become docile in late Fall. One Halloween we ran up on a seven footer
which had just eaten a large animal(rabbit, probably). He was headed for his
borrow. We threw rocks and everything and he kept slithering! Scared me to
death, since I was riding the fender of the car hunting Jack Rabbits and we
came to a stopped right over the snake.
