One problem I encountered when applying for a provisional licence was
convincing the medical examiners of my suitability. Then convincing an
instructor to take me on!!

Most people who see me do not believe that I drive (although I do 15000 miles
a year), in fact, at one job interview, after having confirmed I could drive
the interviewer asked:-

"I hope you don't mind me asking, but do you have a lot of accidents?".

I got the job, perhaps because I instantly answered "No...., but I do see a
surprising number in my mirrors", at which point the interview had to pause
for 5 minutes while he tried, unsuccessfully, to stop laughing.

Cheers

Deri
