Hi Jen,
I what way do you work with this young person?  Just curious.  There are
several simple adaptations that can be used.  Has she tried a large track
ball yet?  It's a little easier for some people to use.  Also, if you are
using a PC with Windows software and the accessibility features are
installed there are several that might be of some help, sticky keys,
changing the size of the cursor, having the drag function on the arrow,
etc.
