I think one of the differences in Hawaii was that Hawaii was a sovergn (sp?)
nation recognized internationally as such.  I do believe that the native
Hawaiian movement is looking for land that was promised the Hawaiian people
by law (such as the Pearl Harbor station was actually originally promised to
Hawaiians).
