just a neuro will not make it, there are enough people on this list that
have tried that. it has to be a neuro that has taken interest in cp and
treated several adults with cp. the adults is critical. there are lots of
doctors that treat children that just don't put together what 40-50 years of
this stuff does.
i had to go through a stint with a ortho at a pretty well known clinic
here, with the expressed intent that he confer with the drs at the clinic
that treated children with cp. he should then extrapolate what years would
add to the experiences. i did not expect this approach to work but the HMO
said we had to try that before they'd consider going further. the ortho did
not confer, he really did nothing. except collect his fee. he confered on
that for sure. he was clueless and did not care.
hey guys, did you see that "extrapolate" . a $2.00 word, and you guys
thought i had a 50 cent vocabulary. of course i am not sure of the spelling.

Hey.

I am just catching onto this list again...but...from what I have heard.
Could a Neuro or Rehab Psychologist help understand the changes which
may develop when aging (especially with CP)? I know that very few
physicians or clinical psychologists are given extensive education in
the area of CP.

If anyone has some questions I could pass them by myself or a number of
people at the hospital I work at currently. The hospital's primary
client load are those who have been diagnosed with an acquired brain
injury (stroke, MVA, etc..). There are a couple of people accessing
services who have been diagnosed with CP in the past (later brain injury
following).
