Kyle,

Zone Alarm is free for personal use, and I believe the URL is:

http://www.zonealarm.com

Very easy to set up and use. However it does pop up at start-up, so Laura would probably suspect something after you install it.

My wife, Laura, leaves hers up 24/7 so she can share MP3 files with her
students. She doesn't have a "computer condom" (against the sage advice of
her husband) due to (her) space concerns. So, catching hard drive cooties is
just a matter of time. How many denari did you have to lay down for "Zone
Alarm", Kat? I could install it surreptitiously and she'd never be the
wiser.

Downloading a firewall was the very first thing I did Wednesday after my
cable modem was installed because with my luck something would have
happened. So far, I have had no problems, let's hope it continues. The
only thing I have noticed is every time I send a e-mail, it takes sometime
before it gets sent.

Thanks,
Anthony

The only problem I have with the connection always being up is I have to
be very careful about hackers. So I have Zone Alarm installed, and it does
a very good job as a personal firewall against unauthorised access.

I know the feeling because I had to wait for 3 years until cable modem
service came to my local area, I always called the cable company to bug.
And actually, I was one of the first people who received access because
the
service was up Monday and I got my connection Wednesday. So far, I'm in
Internet heaven because its so fast and plus its always on. Lastly, it
will
cost me lesser because before I was paying for the Internet access and
plus
an extra phone line, so I will save at least $15 and I'm happy about that.

  Thanks,
  Anthony

You are such a brat. I'll have to split my time between your place and
    Anthony's :)

    Cheers!
