What: LICIL a not-for profit organization that has been assisting people with disabilities for more than 23 years will be hosting an art auction-fundraising event to benefit the consumers from the HOS. We are inviting artists to participate in the Auction for Independence by donating their work. All artists have the option of keeping 30% of the proceeds from the piece that sells and all the donations are tax deductible.



When: October, Saturday 18 2003 doors will be open at 4pm for a preview/ exhibition and the auction starts at 5pm.



Where: Student Center’s Multipurpose Room at Hofstra University, 200 Hofstra University, Hempstead, NY 11549-2000



Who: Disabled and non- disabled artists from NY and various countries of Latin America will be participating at the Art Auction for Independence. Artist on Wheels will donate the frames for any unframed pieces. Other co-sponsors are: Hofstra University, Phi Iota Alpha Inc. Zeta chapter Hofstra University, Minute Man Press of Levittown and Radio Unica 1660 am



Why: To generate funding to assist Latino consumers who experience a variety of social and economic hardships.
