I'm sure they could but why would they?  If they rejected Gov. Palin as 
a VP candidate and went with another choice, what message would that 
send to the voters?  It would smack of hypocrisy and fragmentation 
within the party.  If Palin were to be off the ticket, I'm sure it'd 
have be on her own terms, not by being forced out.
