Hello

My name is Sarah Haynes and my daughter has been diagnosed with CP. She was diagnosed when she was 13 months old, she's 28 months old now. Every time I feel like I have a handle on her needs something new comes out of the works. They beleive she had a stroke in the womb because of a blood clot. She has right side weakness. Now we just found out she had spacial orientation issues, speaking issues, and needs to be seen by a hematologist. Luckily there is no signs of seizures, and she has proven repeatedly how smart she is.

I am trying my best to do all the activities and things she needs. I have been a full time mom just to handle it all for the last two years. However because of paperwork problems I am not allowed to be with her. I am banned from the USA for ten years. She is a dual citizen, so when all this mess happened I brought her to Canada with me. However in May, after being in a homeless shelter with her for months, I found out it would take months more for her to be admitted to care at the Children's hospital. So I made the heartbreaking decision to send her back to be with her father. They are working hard to get her back into all he care she had in Washington. She, in that time, regressed physically and her speech became worse.

The lawyers assure me I'll be back by the end of the summer. It was suggested that since I have time on my hands I should take it and educate myself the best I can. All I want is to give her the most I can. I don't care how bad things get as long as she is happy and confident. Its hard when things keep coming out of no where and scaring me. Such as watching for signs of seizures only to be told its blood clots I need to be worrying about.

Sarah Haynes
