Christina,

I don't know what sort of organizations you belong to, or your opinion on
these sorts of options, but local churches and many non-profits will often
have programs to help folks with housing repairs (my church in Ohio does).

If you're in a city, there is often help available through civic housing
assistance funds. The mayor's office in most cities have a help line you
can call to get you hooked up with the appropriate agency.

Many insurance companies or mortgage-holding banks have emergency assistance
no-interest loans or grants you can get. They don't want their investment
to be ruined any more than you do, so discuss it with your ins. agent and
bank.

As far as the van is concerned, You might talk to the GM of your local
dealership, or contact the manufacturer yourself. I used to work in the
arbitration group of Chrysler, and there were times when we would help
facilitate purchase of vehicles and mods.
I know it's hard, but you have to "think out of the box" and be creative in
looking for assistance. It's there, it's just hard to find right now.

Kyle

Hi Kyle. IMS is a company that does the conversions for fully accessible
vans. The website address is http://www.ims-vans.com

My insurance company will only pay to fix the hole in the roof but we found
out that the entire roof is rotted through. Even with insurance help we
still
have to meet a 1,000 dollar deductible.

Thanks for your reply and good luck with your tests!

CHRISTINA JO
