Kathy Jo,
I've been on my own and had my own flat since I was 21, except for a few years when I stayed with my mother during her last illness to help her out.
My CP is relatively mild, and I've got spastic diplegia, which means it's my legs that are affected, nothing else. I'm now in a wheelchair due to arthritis and aftereffects of an accident I had five years ago. I'm on my own, and do my own housekeeping and grocery-shopping, etc., except that I pay a lady to come and do the heavier chores every two weeks. Since I have a fulltime job with lots of long hours, she's a lifesaver.
