This is what I originally tried to send to the list in response to Lori
Hershenhouse's question. I sent it originally from UW web based email
interface, and it was apparently converted to a MIME file, possibly
because of an embedded table. I converted that table to plain text, and
hopefully I won't be "speaking in tongues" again.

An unreasonable man (but my wife says that's redundant!)

=20

The reasonable man adapts himself to the world; the unreasonable one
persists in trying to adapt the world to himself. Therefore, all
progress depends on the unreasonable man.

Lori,

=20

You might want to talk to Mary Bryant. She's my counterpart at the Univ
of Nevada/Reno, and probably has contacts in Las Vegas. A lot of
University Centers for Excellence in Developmental Disabilities (UCEDDs)
also are affiliated either formally or loosely with parent centers in
their states, and the people in the parent centers have a lot of info
and "real world experience" in dealing with issues that kids with
disabilities and their families go through. If I can answer any other
questions about the UCEDD network, or help point you in the right
direction, feel free to contact me either through the list, or directly.

My wife and I both have CP, and work for Wyoming's UCEDD, the Wyoming
INstitute for Disabilities (WIND).

Subject: Hi

Hi, my name is lori, I have a 14yr old boy with CP. We are going thru a
tough time and need support. I live in Las vegas . My son is very
immature for his age and has no friends. I would like to know of some
resources in my area that may be able to help both for my son and my
husband and myself. Thanks, Lori
