Oh, absolutely, I agree! Did this guy quote the ADA word for word? Is =
there a mechanism in place to review wording or would a new Act need to be =
passed to make language changes?

This guy at Kyle's work sounds like such a jerk, BTW. I AM outraged on =
Kyle's behalf that he would presume to do this. I didn't mean to imply =
otherwise in my post. :-)

you are right, but, it should be worded in such a way as to protect the
privacy of those of the disability community that are capable of advocating=

for themdelves and to keep busybodies from interferring.

Patronizing for you folks but the ADA covers all disabilities including =
=3D
developmentally delayed and children, no? If this clause wasn't in there, =
=3D
then it would depend on the individuals themselves... some of whom might =
=3D
not be able to do their own advocacy. I work with people with psychiatric =
=3D
disabilities and have had to advocate for them to get even basic living =
=3D
accomodations sometimes. Although we don't have the ADA in Canada, the =3D
basic principles are the same up here.

Just my $.04 CDN. :-)

Oh but I definitely do. That's what I find so patronising! It assumes we
don't know any better so anyone else can make our decisions for us. =3D
Grrrrr!

i really never knew the law aloowed for any interested person to step in

person can ask something "in the best intrest of the child." do you guys
find this insulting?
