Elaine,

Thanks for the vote of confidence in teachers.  As a fifth grade
teacher, myself, I know I am a role model to kids...especially those
with disabilities.  But, you are right, we will never be the role models
the sports stars are and will never make the big bucks.  Heck, my school
district/union just signed a new 5 year contract and even though it
looks like we are getting raises, I am in essence going to take a pay
cut due to increased insurance costs, copays, and a reduction in
graduate credit reimbursement.  Oh well!  I love my job so I roll with
the punches.
