Bobby, I think my day job is getting to me. This will be my first
"presidential" election to work. As such, local ballot issues always double
because the politicos know that more folks turn out for the Prez vote. I am
inundated by politicking from morning 'til night, both inter-nicene and
electoral.

Plus, Gus Hall (US communist party) died a couple weeks ago. He was the
only fun in the whole business. I decided not to vote for Nader because he
needs a bath. Can't trust a man who says he wants to clean our watersheds,
but won't wash his pits.

I know there are good people on this list that need and deserve financial
assistance with day-to-day living. It's too bad that churches and
communities stopped doing this and the government took on that burden. I
looked at last week's pay stub and I took home 64% of my gross. I had no
say in the matter, neither did any of my co-workers. If that's not
"taxation without representation", I know not what it may be. It wouldn't
be so bad if that 36% of my salary went directly to the folks that deserved
it. Trouble is, maybe 10% of that 36% was put to good use. The rest paid
for bureaucratic overhead.

Laura and I were in Boston over the weekend. I wish I'd thought to
symbolically pitch a bag of Lipton in the harbor. ;>)
