We get tornadoes down here two but, they are quickies. I've lived in Ohio
and have seen quite a few twisters (none on the ground though) The town I
grew up in had a big one come down the main drag on a Palm Sunday in 66. I
wasn't around but, my dad says that one guy woke up in the road on a
mattress. Glad your folks came out of Gordon alright. Our house is so many
feet above the road because of zoning rules.
Hurricanes ain't bad by the time they get to us they are just storms but,
Floyd last year was a bit nerve wreaking.
