Just got back from my jaunt in CapeTown South Africa, what a
beautiful country. Although the exigencies of work did get in the
way of sightseeing a little.

Hotel was fine, except it could have been a little farther from
work (2 mins)!! I was a little amused on the first day on
investigating the facilities of my TV remote that the "MENU"
button which brought up a menu of assorted Adult Video channels
for lonesome business men, also included an option:-

   "Disable Adult Video"

Initially I did think that the Hotel were going out of their way
to make me feel at home, but then decided it was probably some
sort of parental lock!!!

The company I was visiting royally wined and dined me each
evening. I tasted Ostrich, Spring Bok, Yellow Tail, King Clip,
and at least a dozen different Red Wines, and a drink called Dom
Pedro which was like a McDonalds Milk Shake but 70 percent proof.

On my last day, having seen very little of the country, apart
from the inside of bars and restaurants, I cancelled all my
meetings, since the system I'd written was now working to their
satisfaction, and asked them to book a taxi to take me into Cape
Town. I was amazed when they put a chaffeur driven car at my
disposal for the day.

Anyway, back to work tomorrow, and I've been catching up on the
List Postings. This one from Kyle caught my eye:-

> Oh, BTW, I was scolded by one of the list admins for wasting
> bandwidth and driving new subscribers away by humorous and
> off-topic threads, so I'll be cutting my posting back quite a
> bit.

since I have not seen any "scolding" posts on the list I assume
you got a private e-mail, its Ok Kyle, you can safely ignore
those. Since this list is a democracy we (the list administators)
can't DO anything to you unless we all agree!! For my part, I
hope you keep posting your humourous warm hearted posts. Even
Trisha's unofficial greeting to new members mentions "The are no
off limit topics", so this applies to you as well.

With regard to "driving new subscribers away" I can assure you
there has been no mail sent to the official List Administrators
mailbox citing your posts as a reason for leaving. Sure we get
some subscribers who join for a few days and then leave, maybe
they'd stay longer if it was more humourous!!! I've got a couple
of prime limericks I could now post to the list in the current
spirit of sexual freedom!!

I liked to belatedly join the widespread appreciation of "~Joys~"
posts - very good.

And congrats to Toobs, I was only "almost" busted by the Dean at
University, but that involved two girls, a bottle of "Irish"
champagne, a sound system, and the Bishop of Durham - we won't go
there!!!

Anyway, good to be back.
