No, 80 kph is about 50 mph. 

Canada went metric in the 70's just late enough so that I had to learn both systems in school. (We became officially bilingual - french and english - about that time too.) I think in metric most of the time - especially for temperatures and distances - but have trouble sometimes with weights and measures. I still bake using the English measures (cups, teaspoons, etc.). I have to use metric at work for weights and heights but still need to convert for them to have meaning for me.
