I think it is sad that we have to blame parents for anything. It's the
weakest kind of cop out, IMHO. My parents were dirt farmers who migrated to
a city due to hard times. They just happened on to the brightest
neurosurgeon in Texas and he treated for nothing from the time I was three
until I was 21. He also lecture to my graduate school class! Did my parents
do some things wrong? YES Did my parents do some things right? Yes Do I
blame my parents for their "mistakes"?
Only if I am a whining fool.

Elaine is in a "damned if you do, damned if you don't" position, as I see
it. We
can sit back and "Monday morning" quarterback, but she and her child must
live their lives which entails making tough decisions at times. I am a
parent whose
adopted child had sixteen plastic and orthopedic surgical procedures. Did
we do everything right? Hell no! Is she a happy person today? By the Grace
of God, Yes.
Life is like a poker game, the trick is to play the cards you are dealt the
best way you know how and then don't whine about it!!
