Michael,

My husband has the gastro-esophageal reflux disorder that
Kyle discribed. Several times
Roger had a procedure done to open his esophagus. Finally
he had a fundoplication
where part of the stomach is wrapped around the lower part
of the esophagus. It was
definitely not “fun” as he ended up with staff infection.
Once he recovered from the
infection, the surgery itself was very successful. That was
probably 15 years ago. He
occassionally has trouble swollowing large capsules. He has
numerous health problems
so he takes lots of medications.

I’ve the one with CP so I don’t know how CP would effect
this disorder. But it’s
something to think about and check out. In my
opinion/experience doctors often dismiss
symptoms as par for the course if you have CP.

Good luck!
Charlotte
