Hi Mike,

Can you explain what you mean by :

I actually don't think Christianity
would be a faith for people who suffer with any of the other choices,
and therefore would be deemed irrelevant in today's world.

I am groping to understand

As long as it's known we're not proselytizing, I'll step in and say a
few things... :) I find the article very truthful about Christianity
being a faith for the sufferers. I actually don't think Christianity
would be a faith for people who suffer with any of the other choices,
and therefore would be deemed irrelevant in today's world.

Having said that, I'm now going to say that I think Constamtine did the
church a major disservice by making Christianity the state faith. It
creates an nationalistic attitude in many churches and Christians.
I've had to fight against this attitude in my own life ever since Gulf
War '91. Just when I think I put out one fire, "up she comes with
another..."

Nationalism is the big boogey man for me, because Jesus was so much
against it. I don't think I love my country any less than any other red
blooded American, I love my God much more.

Mike

why yes i do think so.
you are right in that nothing ever really changes.
problems that faced christianity in the early days,
face it today. the enemy has not went away. nor will
he.

i hope the non-christians on the list will induge me
in this conversation. i'll get it off list if it goes
further.
