i was at rancho Los amigos for other reasons, (dept of rehab wanted me
evaluated for com device, etc)and i mentioned i wanted to drive, and the ot
said, if jerry can drive, you can drive, and they showed me a video of a
guy with a very severe  cp gait, driving a car. at another visit, i was
evaluated, and referred to the calif school of driving. i never drove stick
shift, always automatic or power steering, no hand controls. took me nine
months of lessons but i passed the test first time around... drove for 21
years, had my share of accidents, most were caused by car malfunctiobs, or
getting rear ended.. a few were my stupidity, but i learned from them.
