the fair tax fully finances the government programs.
just not with a income tax. it does relieve the poor
from paying any taxes. even the social security tax is
taken away. 
  and again you have 2 defrees because you chose to
get two degrees. again that choice might have been
enabled by having some finances that others do not,
but, some is just unforunate and some is choices made.
but even if people are poor becouse of their choices,
if they want to do better, then help them do so. 
  again how much do you feel comfortable with th
government taking. of course you know that what you
see on the check stub is not all the tax you pay.
