Not many people outside the Southeast know that, though.  I've met people
who thought earthquakes only happen in California.

I knew that...   There was an earthquake here in Southside Virginia in
the 90's which scared some people. Didn't do much damage, however.

True, but then we don't get all the floods, snowstorms and earthquakes
they
get in other parts of the country.  Although we do get any of them once
in a
while, just not very often.  I remember a small earthquake in High
Point, NC
back when I was in high school, but that was a little itty-bitty one,
nothing
to get excited about, not like the ones we had when I was a kid in So.
Calif.

Did you know we have a fault running up the Carolinas up into Virginia?
Yep,
it's called "The Charleston Fault," but it's nowhere near as active as
the San
Andreas Fault out West.
