IMHO, it gives him a way to figure out what to say as much as anything
else...  Also gives him a chance to "put his house in order," ie, distance
himself from some of the lobbying groups that worked for the Wall Street
firms that committed the most egregious "errors."

I like Obama's stance (surprised?) that the American people need to know how
the crisis will be dealt with by the person who will have the problem dumped
in his lap after the election.
