Mike,

I don't know the original piece by Lewis that it came from; I found it
on this quotations page:

http://www.wisdomquotes.com/

Kendall

An unreasonable man (but my wife says that's redundant!)

The reasonable man adapts himself to the world; the unreasonable one
persists in trying to adapt the world to himself. Therefore, all
progress depends on the unreasonable man.

-George Bernard Shaw 1856-1950

Ken,

Our priest gave one of the women that said that if my Mom's faith were
strong enough... a similar theology lesson. (Un)fortunately, soon after
that, her husband had a stroke, which left him permanently disabled.

Kendall

"Of all the tyrannies, a tyranny exercised for the good of its victims
may be the most oppressive. It may be better to live under robber barons
than under omnipotent moral busy-bodies. The robber baron's cruelty may
sometimes sleep, his cupidity may at some point be satiated; but those
who torment us for our own good will torment us without end, for they do
so with the approval of their own conscience."
C.S. Lewis
