i became a pool shark pretty quickly myself.

they all must have all been incompetant during that time span (early 70's).
i recorded not much. of course, i had ecconomics prof's that could have put
a tape recorder to sleep. if you could stay awake through the lectures you
could get an "A".

When I went to University, early 70s, they weren't really geared up
for disabilities - particularly not if you couldn't write (Well I can
write - its just reading it again later that's the problem!!) - and
my IBM electric typewriter weighed a ton.

My tutor bought me a portable tape recorder, but the cost of
batteries was phenomenal, and some lecturers refused permission to
tape (prima facia evidence of their incompetence!!!). What with cost
of batteries, and having to listen to a boring lecture twice, this
practice of taping lectures soon fell into disrepute. I found that by
reading the books the lecturers had read, and going to the
seminars/tutorials, the lectures were not sorely missed and it gave
me more time to hone my Pinball skills in the Students Union!
