Hello People,

I've been lurking for some time. The twin discussions of "New Members" and
"Survivor" got me feeling a little Big Brotherish myself for eavesdropping
on this list. Thank you all for all you have already taught me.

I am the father of Noah, who will be three in early August (a week before
his little sister is due). Noah's umbilical crimped during labor and he was
born with hypoxic brain damage, mostly to basal ganglia. Officially, he has
spastic quad CP with Mic-Key tube. Unofficially, he is a funny, cute,
bright, and cheery little guy--all of which is astounding given the early
outlook. (We were delighted the first time he managed to get out a good cry
and then had to remind ourselves of that happiness while he continued to cry
for the
next six months, slowing down only during his few hours of sleep.)

I don't expect to have much time for e-mail after Noah's sister is born, but
for now I'll try to be a little more present. Thanks again to all of you.
