just a little tidbit. the holy book of Islam (the Koran) forbids hostilities
toward the jews as does the teachings of Jesus who loved them very much. an
i think the old testaments teaches enough about love of others. you'd think
the fighting would not go on regardless of differences.

As more of a history lesson:
In the beginning, Islam recognized Christians and Jews and brethern in faith
that needed special handling. Jesus to Islamics was a healer, prophet,
wiseman, beloved of Allah. My Saudi aquaintences have an interesting
interpretation of Jesus's death on the cross. Jews, Christians, and Muslims
recognize many of the same patriarches such as Abraham, David, Moses, etc.
It is traditionally thought that the Arabic peoples came from Abrahams
concubine, Hagar (I think I have that right) and the Jewish people came from
Sarah, Abrahams legitamate wife. It's amazing to me how the three faithes
are so alike yet so different. It's almost like watching a bunch of feuding
siblings.

Well Mag I will take a stab at this one. A quickie - its two job day!! I
need to leave in 9 minutes!!

The Jewish religion now its 5759th year - is based on ancient
tales beginning around campfires - compilied into a manuscipt called the
Bible - The Old Testiment( Only). It is the belief system of the Hebrew
poeple. They are still waiting for the Promised Messiah to come. It is now
Patriarchial/Male Deity based belief system, once in the very beginning it
was a Matriarchal component. Additional manuscripts are used and taught -
The Torah. Male children are to circumcised, they have Holy days based on
their significant events. Which since I can't spell them correctly - I will
out of respect list at later time.

That a real brief quickie nutshell. I am sure that Steve - can be more
concise and educational.

Islam is its 1420th year based the teachings of the Prophet
Mohammed. The manuscript it uses is called the Koran. It is also a
Patriarchial/Male Deity based belief system. The Islamic religion recognizes
Master Jesus as a wiseman. They do not as the Christian view him as a
Messiah.

Piffle - I have to go - more tomorrow!!

                           Hugs to You Mag
                                   Trisha
