I'll second Ken's statements here. My wife, Laura, has incurable leukemia.
It's not yet affecting her "quality of life", but when that time comes, and
it will, am I going to be able to care for her, the kids AND myself? Tough
question, not to be taken lightly. Fact of the matter is, having to pick up
the burden for your spouse's physical inabilities does take its toll. It's
one thing to say, "Honey, no matter what happens I will be there to take
care of you", and quite another to be able to follow through on that process
consistently (and without resentment).

Just food for thought...

-Kyle

gordon,
i don't mean to dampem your goal of marriage, but, i'd advise you to go
to the archives and read some discussion on aging with cp. i love my wife
and children very much, but, if i were single now, i think i could do some
things to take care of my aging problems that i can not do and still meet
responsibilities to my wife and children. i am not saying us cpers should
not marry, i am saying "know in advance how it might affect you in your
40's, 50's ..... and how you will affect the family once problems with aging
starts to come up.
