For those of us taking Zanaflex (tizanidine) for spasticity, I have great
news! The patent has expired and generic equivalents are now available.
Many of us have had to pay full price as the insurance companies will not
put "brand name" meds on many of their formularies. When I had my Zanaflex
filled yesterday, the generic price was 25% the amount I had been paying.
This generic equivalent will bring the price of this medication within the
reach of many CPers who don't have very good or non-existant prescription
coverage.

I found the generic to be just as effective in reducing spasticity so I
could get a decent night's sleep.
