speaking of mirrors, i have had a very hard time looking at myself in a
mirror for any longer then a couple of seconds. see, in 5th grade my school
picture came out and i was all contorted. this only helped impress upon me,
my mom's cruel mimicking of my face and speech, which happened about twice a
month. and that 5th grade image stuck until my mid 30's. when dad got out
all the slides, and then i kept hearing myself say, oh, look, i was cute. oh
wow, i'm cute in that one too... it really made a huge dent in my self
esteem.
