some had, some retired when clinton was pres. one
who was a bush general had been demoted and forced out
for some violation. there are 9000 retired generals in
this country. 6 out of 9000 is harly a great sample.
another thing about this there were no navy
admirals and no airforce generals. there has been an
ongoing argument about the size of ground forces
needed. bush and dod brass wants about 1/2 mil fast
deploy type and some of these generals wanted 1 mil.
this was more about being overode than it was about
iraq and rumsfeld's style. not how they were treated,
but, that their opinion did not prevail.
this was not 6 generals coincidentally critising as
gen. kinni (hope i spelled that right) was known to
have been on the phone co-ordinating this. also i
heard the same words on every news outlet except fox.
"revolt of the generals" was used on radio, tv and in
print. when you hear the same phrase 15-20 times out
of different media, it is a script. we call it
"talking points." they do not even try to disguise it.
just more of the same from the media. and it is not
real news.
