Kathy Jo,

Dental implants are artificial teeth implanted into the jaw and held in place by metal pegs (I think it's metal pegs - Mag, correct me if I'm wrong about that), and a plastic bridge is a bridge of artitficial teeth held in place by plastic holders.

Both replace missing teeth.
