Thank you for your reply.  My daughert feel that her peers are more willing
to accept her, when they don't feel that they are being put in a position of
having to help her.  She feels an aide is a tool that makes her realistically
as independent as she can be in a setting that is potentially dangerous.  She
would feel like a total outcast wearing a helmet or using a walker.
