I'm stressed out these days because of my job so maybe it's a sign of  
the times when I get irritated at the press for making such a big  
deal out of Cheney's shooting a fellow hunter.  I am a ardent liberal  
as most of you know, but I think it's ridiculous that a big play-up  
has been made of the shooting.  It was an accident, for cripes' sake,  
and there were no serious injuries (thank goodness!)  It's my  
impression that the guy who got shot didn't yell out a warning or  
anything, so the blame is not entirely Cheney's.

In fact, the only really big deal I can see about the whole thing is  
that Cheney didn't have a valid hunting license, and it seems to me  
that that'd have been a staffer's oversight.  I mean, I can't see  
Dick Cheney himself taking the time to get a new license, can you?   
He's got a staff to check on things like that.

Of course, it could be that I'm too easily irritated these days!
