I guess it's pretty endemic.  Found out yesterday during my meeting that our
receptionist was insisting they provide me with a wheelchair!  Heck, I still
walk two blocks from the car to the elevator.  It may take ten minutes, but
who is she to say what I need?  Believe me, I've learned to say "uncle" when
I need to.

Oh but I definitely do. That's what I find so patronising!  It assumes we
don't know any better so anyone else can make our decisions for us.  Grrrrr!
