Hey CP listers,

Janet and I just got a Schwinn recumbent exercise bike, in an effort to
get back into shape and deal with some of the effects of becoming middle
aged. (We're still not ready to say "aging"!) The problem is that my
left foot slides backward off the pedal. The pedals have straps that
prevent both our feet from sliding off sideways or to the front, but
backwards is still a problem. We tried a Bungee (shock) cord last
night, and it kind of worked, but after awhile it moves and comes off.
It's also impossible to put on without help from someone else, as the
foot's got to be on the pedal, and the strap gets wrapped around it and
hooked. If any of you have any better ideas, we'd really appreciate it!

An unreasonable man (but my wife says that's redundant!)

The reasonable man adapts himself to the world; the unreasonable one
persists in trying to adapt the world to himself. Therefore, all
progress depends on the unreasonable man.
