Hi Beth,

My Mom was the same way. I don't think she ever really accepted my cp. My ex
husband referred to the tension between me & Mom as invisible arrows.

But don't sell yourself short, Beth, because you have gone to college and
have a job, and live on your own. That will be very inspiring to a young
girl.

Yes, until I came on-line, I had very few role models. I still think about
Helen Keller and the things she faced. But I view it more as a story of a
supported life, or an enabled life, and I think of it as a model of sorts for
the independent living movement.
